Group of 15 Advance to State HOSA Competition

HOSA Regionals

Fifteen Health Science students have advanced to the HOSA State Conference where they will compete in a variety of team and individual skill events.  The State Conference will be held April 19-20 at the University of Toledo.  HOSA is a national organization that provides networking, leadership and skill development opportunities for students in health-related career pathways.

Those qualifying for the state event along with their placement at the regional competition include:

Knowledge Tests: Transcultural Health Care - Catherine Corwin (Junior, Beavercreek) - 1st Place
MRC Partnership Team  - Tessa George (Senior, Xenia), Makenna Jones (Senior, Beavercreek), Valerie Anderson (Senior, Beavercreek), and Chelsea Boone (Senior, Fairborn) - 1st Place
Medical Assisting - Larissa Richards (Junior, Xenia) - 1st Place 
Extemporaneous Poster - Shyann Predmore (Junior, Fairborn) - 2nd Place
Health Education Team - Mikaela Reynolds (Junior, Fairborn) and Chaday Hurst (Junior, Xenia) - 3rd Place
Researched Persuasive Speaking and Writing - Eeyana Stewart (Senior, Cedarville) - 3rd Place
Life Support Skills - Shane Beat (Junior, Greeneview) - 3rd Place
CPR First Aid Team - Brittany Rowland (Senior, Xenia) and Casey Sturgill (Senior, Xenia) - 4th Place
EMT Team - Kelsi Fallis (Senior, Xenia) and Dustin Thatcher (Senior, Xenia) - 4th Place
