Since this week in Spirit Week and Friday is Homeschool colors day, we have moved “ dress down day” to next Friday 9/13/23.  

 

GCCC students,

Did you know that you DO qualify for both the National Technical Honor Society (here at GCCC) AND the National Honor Society from your home school. Please check your home school email for more information about the National Honor Society.

 

Veterinary Science is hosting doggie day care! Pay $10 for your dog to come to our lab and play with other dogs brought in by your friends and fellow students. For more information on requirements and how to sign up, take a brochure off the Veterinary Science door or contact Dr. Rickabaugh.

 

 

 

“GCCC Students: If you are falling behind in your classes or need help with assignments, tutoring is now available every Monday and Wednesday after school. It will run from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm in room 2426 (at the top of the academic stairway). Please see Mrs. Marino in room 2426 for details”

 

 

If you need to take a medication at GCCC, you are required to have a prescription from your doctor AND provide the school nurse with the medication. This includes Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Benadryl, etc. GCCC does not provide students with any medications. This may be different from your home school so check in with the school nurse if you have any questions or you need the form!

Beavercreek Students: 

Do you play an instrument, sing, write songs, or want to learn how to run sound for a studio and produce music for a record label? Musicians Connect is a place where vocalists, songwriters, instrumentalists, and producers can collaborate on original music. Come and jam with other musicians on Mondays from 3:00 to 4:30 in room 2032.

 

BHS is welcoming a new club called Relief Club. The club's mission is to help people locally, nationally, and around the world. Our first project will focus on aiding the victims of Morocco and Libya through an International Bake Sale organized with the International Club. The first meeting will take place in Mr. Ankrom's room on Monday, October 9th. Join to make an impact and earn service hours!

Hey seniors! 

It's that time of year where we start preparing for SENIOR NIGHT! Senior night will be Friday, October 13 during the pregame festivities! Senior night is open to all fall athletes regardless if your sport has its own senior night. 

PLEASE fill out this Google Form by Friday, October 6th. We can't wait to celebrate with you! 

 

Are you interested in pursuing a career in the music recording industry? If you've ever thought about becoming a musical artist, running sound for a studio, or working for a record label, join Musicians Connect's first meeting of the year for a special presentation: 'Learn the modern music industry.' The event will be hosted by Nashville Producer and Beavercreek Alumni "Izzy Rage. 

 

 

Attention Wrestlers - 

Open Mats will now start at 6:30PM-8:00PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Strength and conditioning times are still after school.

Any student not participating in a Fall sport that is interested in wrestling during the Winter season. See Coach Clingner or Coach Webb. See Coach Clingner in Room 2088 for information.

 

 

Friends Show Choir is looking for hardworking crew members. If you're interested in working behind the scenes, making props, electronics, and fog, google Friends Show Choir and sign up on their website. If you have questions email Mr. Enneking.

Purple VS White Senior Girls Powder Puff Game 2023-     

This year's POWDERPUFF game will fall on WEDNESDAY, October 4, 2023 @ 7:00 at the stadium. No cost for entry.

Cedarville: 

Class meetings at Cedarville this Friday, October 6th from 10:19-10:46am. 

BASEBALL – High School boys planning to play baseball this spring please sign up in the office. 

ATTENTION SENIORS – Do you want your cute baby picture in the yearbook? $10. Not so cute picture? Still just $10! …and how about a “shout out” ad to you with a photo of yourself you really like? $40-$75, depending on the size ad you choose. The yearbook staff will even design it for you, if you like. Deadline to submit is October 6th.

ATTENTION STUDENTS – You can order your 2023-2024 yearbook now for $45 until October.

Fairborn Students: 

Oct. 9 and Nov. 9 at 7:00 AM for Fairborn High School. GCCC seniors can get their pictures taken at 7:00 AM at FHS. 

Are you a Junior? Are you wanting to make sure this year's Prom is the best ever!! Then join the PROM COMMITTEE!! Here are the top 4 Reasons to Join Prom Committee:

1.Great way to show leadership skill for future college/work application.

2.Help decide the theme and decorations for Prom

3.Earn a Discounted Prom Ticket        

4.Help the class of 2025 raise money to reduce the cost of the Senior Trip! 

 

There will be two Prom Committee meetings every month in the Media Center on Thursdays from 2:05 to 2:45pm. The first Prom Committee meeting will be Thursday, October 12. In addition, ALL Prom Committee members MUST BE available on the evenings of November 3 and March 1. Please see or email Ms. Ruppert for more information.

 

 

Fairborn senior pictures will be taken on Monday, October 9 in the auditorium beginning at 7 a.m. This is a formal picture - no hoodies or t-shirts. The only way to have a senior banner and be included in the class composite is to have your picture taken at Fairborn High School on October 9. 

Attention, Skyhawks: The 2023 Yearbooks are available in room 111 for $90.00. See Ms. Johnson in the Yearbook room (room 111) if you have any questions.

The Technology Student Association meets every Thursday in Ms. Sauder's Room (316) from 2-3pm. If you've ever wanted to try out airplane design, programming, board game creation, and other technology topics, stop by and learn more! 

 

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS WHO PLAN TO ATTEND VARSITY FOOTBALL GAMES:       

•      Please be advised that you are expected to sit in the stands, specifically in the High School/Home student section. The only time you are to be out of your seat is if you are buying something at concessions or going to the restrooms. (Non-Fairborn students must sit in the Visitors’ Section

•      There is to be no student traffic in the tunnel except to go to or from the restroom facilities.

•      There is to be no loitering around the concession area.

•      No bags, backpacks, or balls will be admitted into the game area.

•      If you leave the game, you cannot re-enter the game—not even with a ticket stub.

•      At the 6-Minute Mark in the 4th Quarter, students should call for their ride to come and get them. 

Attention Fairborn High School! The Senior Chocolate sale is underway! Your favorite World's Finest Chocolates will be available to purchase for $1 a bar! Help the seniors raise money for their senior trip to New York City - buy chocolate!

Esports is starting the fall season! If you are interested in playing, streaming or shoutcasting Fortnite, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, Apex Legend or Valorant meet in room 109N after school for more information. 

The football program needs people to film practices and games. No experience is required. We will teach you what to film. This is an important aspect of what we do. You can be a freshman all the way up to senior level. If you are interested, please see Coach Cox, Coach Smith, Coach Mohr, Coach Spain, Coach Hunter and they will give you more information. 

FHS Athletes: The weight room is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:30 to 3:30 for any high school athlete. Just check-in with Coach Bliss as you arrive. See you soon.

Baseball will be lifting Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:30 until 3:30. Fall ball practices will be held on Wednesday's from 4:30 to 6:30.

 

Greeneview Students:

All Seniors! Including GCCC and CCP: Greeneview uses NAVIANCE to assist with all of your college and career search needs, including transcript requests. If you need to request a transcript for a college, you will need to use your NAVIANCE account. All students have a NAVIANCE account. Please check your Greeneview email for information on how to log-in and use the program and how it works with Common App. 

Any senior that is interested in running for class officer, please email Mr. Thompson no later than Thursday, Oct. 5 with your name and the office you want to run for. We will only have a president and VP. [email protected] 

Attention students who are attending the New York Government trip. There is a mandatory student and parent meeting on Wednesday, October 11th at 6:00pm in the Auditeria. 

There is a parent College Knowledge meeting for parents to learn about the college search process, applications, choosing a major, and much more on Wednesday, October 4th at 5:30 at the high school.

 

The Dungeons and Dragons Club's first meeting will be on October 4th. If you are interested, it's in Mr. Thompson's room (Room 209) after school until 3:30. Contact Jocelyn Kasner if you have any questions.

 

The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 7, 2023. Greeneview students attending Homecoming must complete a Greeneview dance contract before purchasing tickets. If a Greeneview student is bringing a guest who attends a different high school, a guest contract must be completed as well. Contracts are available in the front office. Guest contracts are due Wednesday, October 4th by 3:00pm. Tickets are $20 per person and will be sold the week of homecoming during lunch. Greene County Career Center students can purchase tickets at Greeneview after school until 3:00pm on Wednesday and Thursday, October 4th and 5th.

 

 

Greeneview students attending Homecoming must complete a Greeneview dance contract before purchasing tickets. If a Greeneview student is bringing a guest who attends a different high school, a guest contract must be completed as well. Contracts are available in the front office. Guest contracts are due Wednesday, October 4th by 3:00pm. 

Soul'd Out will meet every Thursday after school in Mrs. Pfeifer's room. Anyone interested in joining is always welcome to attend. Soul'd Out is accepting prayer requests from all students. Stop by Mrs. Pfeifer's room to submit a request.

The GHS Chess Club held its first meeting of the year. 

All are welcome to attend, no prior experience or knowledge of chess is required. Contact Isaac Litke at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

 

Did you buy a yearbook last year? We made a mistake and lost a page of the 10th grade portraits. Stop by Mrs. Beam's room to get an insert to make your yearbook complete!

Wrestling open mat is on Wednesday from 3-4pm on the high school mezzanine. All students from grades 7-12 are invited to join. No experience needed. If you have any questions, see Coach Matt in room 218.

Career Center students cannot come into the building after school. Athletes must go in the back athletic entrance. If students need to buy homecoming tickets they can come in before school and do so in the main lobby.

There are Free Yoga Classes at House of AUM this school year for students. If interested, please stop by the office and pick up a form.
