SkillsUSA Medalists Announced

Greene County Career Center students came away with six gold medals at the recent SkillsUSA regional championships. Placing first in their events were Elly Coe (Cedarville) in advertising design, Spencer Wilson (Xenia) in criminal justice, Richard Kruger (Beavercreek) in industrial motor controls, and the team of John Fraley (Xenia), Elijah Kain (Cedarville) and Kaden Jack (Xenia) in crime scene investigation.

An additional six others also qualified for the SkillsUSA Ohio Championships to be held in Columbus April 7-8. Mary Gatlin (Beavercreek) was second in esthetics while Mackenzie Taylor (Fairborn) served as her model. Bri Everhart (Xenia) also placed second in photography. Bronze medals went to Ronicia Pollock (Cedarville) in cosmetology, Jillian Tedrick (Xenia) in electrical construction wiring and Adian Potts (Bellbrook) in photography.

Greene County Career Center was also represented by a number of students who competed but fell just short of advancing to the state championships. They included Paul Purdy (Bellbrook) in automotive services; Sabastian Auxier (Fairborn) in carpentry; Sam Bertke (Xenia) in first aid/CPR; Sophia Palmer (Beavercreek) in job skills demo A; Camari Vineyard (Bellbrook) in job skills demo open model; Maya Kelly (Beavercreek in nail care; Alex Peed (Beavercreek) in nail care model; Kyle Whitt (Fairborn) in related technical math and Clayton Davis (Xenia) in welding. Emma Baise (Cedarville) and Elizabeth Santini (Xenia) competed in promotional bulletin board. Lane Hilderbrand (Greeneview), Levi Bradds (Greeneview) and Kaden Cline (Greeneview) were in the team works event.
