Students in our Marketing program at the main campus and Fairborn High School locations competed in the recent DECA competitions. These events allow students to gain experience in a variety of marketing subjects in judged competitions. Prior to the day of competition students took online exams that madethem eligible. In the months leading up tocompetitions, students met with local industry leaders in preparation for theinterview (role play) portions of the competition.
Fairborn senior Justin Poteet placed second in the Principles ofMarketing contest. Treyrail Ross (a Junior Fairborn student) placed thirdin the Business Finance Competition. Courtney Heick received fourth place in the Principles of Finance Competition and Katrina Lightcap received fifthplace in the Principles of Hospitality and Tourism Competition.
Greene County Career Center students: Maranda Castle received firstplace in the Fashion Promotional Plan and Wesley Jones received 5thplace in the Promotional Selling Competition.
Students Justin Poteet, Treyrail Ross andMaranda Castle will be competing on March 15th and 16th at the Statecompetition in Columbus. StudentsAllison Larotonda, Katrina Lightcap, Courtney Heick and Caitlyn Wilson willalso be competing with written projects at the state level. All students willbe working to qualify for national competition positions that are held thisyear in Anaheim, California.
